The Tilting Drying Rack comes as a self-assembly kit. See here for the necessary instructions. The screws provided are stronger than the plastic of the unit. So do not overtighten them to avoid damaging of the plastic!

The Platypus Tilting Drying Rack is the latest innovation from Forster UK and allows you to dry your 4x5” sheet film and glass plates faster and more effeciently.

Just load your wet sheet film or plates vertically, then tilt the rack so that the water drips from a point instead of collecting along the bottom edge as with standard drying methods.

This version contains 4 slots and can hold up to 4 sheet films or plates at the same time.

Version 2 of the Platypus features resized and reprofiled slots with increased spacing between sheets/plates. The more generous width of the slots allows you to now also load oversized 4x5” sheet film and full-sized ambrotypes up to 3mm thick.

The unit consists 3D printed parts that are made from PLA filaments (plant-based, recyclable and industrially compostable).
