Write the first reviewWashi Film W 2.0 has arrived! Washi Y, like W, is coated on Japanese Kozo (Washi) paper and requires specific handling to achieve a good end result. Its development is identical to film V. Therefore, we strongly recommend reading this manual before working with this film. For specific questions, you may also contact us by mail or phone.
Film "Y" is an panchromatic black & white film hand coated on a traditional Japanese Kozo (Washi) paper. Made for centuries in Japan, this paper combines just the right physical properties with a unique aesthetic: strong, flexible and transparent.
Film Y is the successor and improved version of the popular film W. It now features a panchromatic emulsion instead of a orthochromatic emulsion and a higher nominal film speed of ISO 100 which makes it more flexible to use and allows you to capture more details. The film gives best results with street, portrait and still life photography.
