Washi Film R is a type of photographic paper on which a panchromatic film emulsion is coated. The film was originally designed for use in photo booths but is converted and perforated to be used in classic analog 35mm cameras.

After being processed in a dedicated black-and-white reversal process like Foma R100 or Bellini B&W Rev, Washi Film R delivers small (24x36mm) positive pictures, directly onto the 35mm perforated paper stripe, creating a unique object.

Being coated onto a thick (photographic) paper it is not possible to use Washi R in an automatic (compact) 35mm camera. Please be advised that this is an experimental film and it is thus recommended to not use it with analog cameras which have a fragile or sensitive film advance system. Manual or semi-automatic analog reflex cameras are the best option to use this film.

Washi R has a narrow exposure latitude and must be precisely exposed at ISO 100.

This film can be loaded onto classic film reels (Paterson, AP,...) and must be processed manually in a B&W reversal process. Since the base of the film is much thicker than normal B&W reversal films, the re-exposure time has to be increased by 50%. If you use the Foma R Processing Kit you can use same processing times as for Fomapan R100.
