Write the first reviewRollei RPX 400 is a high speed black-and-white negative film based on an all-new black-and-white emulsion especially made by Harman (Ilford) for Rollei. It is well-suited to use in general indoor and outdoor conditions and is panchromatic sensitized from 380-660nm at 2850K.
The film exhibits a nominal sensitivity of ISO 400/27° and can be developed in most black-and-white film developers. However, the film delivers best results when developed in the dedicated Rollei RPX-D film developer. RPX-D fully uses the nominal sensitivity of RPX400 and delivers high acutance and excellent detail reproduction, even when pushed. When developed at the standard development times, the film yields a characteristic fine grain texture similar to Kodak Tri-X and Ilford HP5, combined with notable sharpness and a wide tonal range.
RPX 400 also features a broad exposure latitude, making it well-suited to push and pull development. The film delivers consistent good results even when pushed up to ISO 1600.
