Write the first reviewKentmere PAN 400 is a high speed, fine grain, black-and-white negative film making it suitable for a wide variety of applications. It offers good sharpness and a broad tonal range. Its wide and forgiving exposure latitude with excellent push characteristics makes it a smart choice for beginners and those returning to film.
Kentmere 400 is panchromatically sensitised and can be processed in a wide range of different film developers.
Compared to Kentmere PAN 100, this is a faster film with more noticeable grain and better latitude for pushing. When comparing Kentmere PAN 400 with Ilford HP5, this film has less latitude for pushing/pulling and is less forgiving to under or over exposure – it doesn’t handle extremes of contrast as well.
