Write the first reviewThe Bellini BW DEK 76 film developer is a (European) alternative to Kodak's well-known D-76 film developer which has been difficult to obtain lately due to problems with Kodak's production partners. Unlike the D-76 as we know it, the concentrate of DEK 76 comes immediately in a liquid form instead of powder form making it even easier to use. DEK 76, like D-76, is further a hydroquinone-based universal black-and-white film developer. The developer is usable with virtually all black-and-white films and results in negatives with fine grain, high sharpness and balanced contrast. Contrast can be easily adjusted by reducing/increasing the development time by 10-15% if the contrast is too high or too low, respectively. The standard development time is 8 minutes (20 °C).
The final results obtained with DEK 76 are almost identical to those obtained with development in Kodak D-76, this also applies to the operation of the film developer. The applicable dilutions, temperatures and development times are similar. Consequently, you can rely on all available information for developing black-and-white films with Kodak D-76, such as the known times in the Massive Dev Chart. For an updated technical sheet, please refer to Bellini's website.
