The new Bellini B&W Paper Reversal Kit finally offers avid users of large format cameras the possibility to obtain an instant positive print after direct exposure of any black and white photographic paper. In other words, thanks to the development process offered by this kit, you turn any black and white photo paper into direct-positive photo paper. So instead of a film, you load a sheet of RC or FB black and white photographic paper in your film cassette, expose it a first time with your camera, then develop it in the darkroom with this kit in combination with a second exposure to get a final print immediately afterwards.

Treatment in the first paper developer, bleach and clarifier should be done under appropriate darkroom lighting (red - multigrade). Then the process should take place under normal light after which the second exposure also takes place. For complete instructions please refer to Bellini's website, see here. Note that the first and second developer are the same paper developer (D100).

This kit contains 2 liters of D100 paper developer, 1 liter of Bleach A, 1 liter of Bleach B and 2 liters of Clarifier to make a total of 10 liters of D100, 5 liters of Bleach and 4 liters of Clarifier. This is sufficient for developing approximately 8-10m² of RC photo paper or 4-8m² of FB photo paper. An opened bottle of paper developer will keep for about 2 weeks but possibly a lot longer if stored in a completely, airtight and full storage bottle. Moreover, the life or capacity of kit can easily be increased given that D100 paper developer is also available separately from us in 1 liter or 5 liter bottles. Indeed, D100 is Bellini's standard neutral-tone black and white paper developer and can therefore be used in ordinary development processes as well.
