Adox HR-DEV is a specialized film developer formulated to unlock the full potential of Adox HR-50 films. Utilizing its unique "SPEED BOOST" technology, this developer is optimized to match the specific properties of the HR-50, ensuring fine detail and deep shadows in your negatives.
This developer works by straightening the film's curve, providing a steeper slope out of the shadows and excellent light differentiation up to zone 9. While primarily designed for Adox HR-50, it also delivers very fine grain and high sharpness when used with other black-and-white films, such as Kodak Tri-X.
Important usage notes:
- The recommended development times are based on the use of distilled water. If you use hard water, be prepared to significantly extend your development times to account for the hardness.
- The provided sensitivity and contrast values are based on measurements taken with a densitometer, which corresponds to results you'd get when printing with a diffused enlarger. If you use a condensed enlarger, the resulting sensitivity and contrast will be higher. To compensate, reduce your development times by approximately 15%.
