Foma Fomabrom Variant III is a black-and-white photographic paper with a double-weight fiber base (FB) and variable contrast in seven levels (00 through 5). The contrast of the photo paper can be easily influenced by using the standard multigrade filters when exposing the photo paper. The photo paper offers a long tonal scale with deep blacks. The interesting price point makes Fomabrom the ideal photo paper to get acquainted with fiber-based photo paper as a medium or to make a large batch of prints at an affordable price.
Like the Fomaspeed RC photo paper, it is made with a silver chlorobromide emulsion that produces a neutral to slightly warm tone, depending on the processing techniques used. The photo paper does generally deliver a slightly warmer tone when comparing the results to its counterpart, Ilford's Fiber Classic photo paper. The paper is also suitable for both direct and indirect toning methods as well as lith printing.
The Fomabrom Variant photo paper is available in two finishes: glossy (111) and matt (112).
