30,5x40,6 cm - MATT - 50 SHEETS - FOMASPEED 312 Variant III
Foma Fomaspeed Variant III is a black-and-white, variable-contrast photographic paper featuring an easy-to-handle resin-coated (RC) paper base. Its contrast can be varied in a large extent from extra soft up to ultra hard by using standard multigrade filters at exposure. The photo paper supports a rich halftone scale with bright whites and deep blacks. Compared to Ilford Multigrade RC photographic papers, the paper base of the Fomaspeed papers is whiter and the tone is a bit more cooler. Its interesting price point makes it the ideal paper to get to know the darkroom printing process or to produce a large batch of prints at an affordable price.
The paper is manufactured using a silver chlorobromide emulsion which provides a neutral to medium-warm tone depending on the used processing techniques. The paper is also receptive to both direct and indirect toning methods. Developing agents incorporated into the emulsion layer facilitate short developing times in manual tray processing. Full development is reached between 60 to 90 seconds at 20 °C. Due to the resin-coated paper base and the thin emulsion layer, the time necessary for fixing, washing and drying is also considerably shortened.
The Fomaspeed Variant photo papers are available in three finishes: glossy (311), matt (312) and velvet surface (313). The velvet finish can be compared to the satin finish of the Ilford Multigrade RC photo papers.
